TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Commissioners voted last month to phase out funding for “legacy” nonprofits — organizations that have received financial support prior to 2024 and extending as far back as 30 years.
How that would happen and what, if any, exceptions would be made weren’t fully clear, so the commissioners recently issued an updated version of the policy that provides more details.
