Pinellas County Deputy Lauded for Excellence in Drugged Driving Enforcement at 2025 MADD Symposium in Florida

Last month, the 2025 MADD Florida Law Enforcement Recognition & Training Symposium brought together deputies from across the state to hone their skills in the fight against impaired driving. It was an event both for recognition and progression in the ongoing battle on Florida’s roadways.

Pride spread among the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office as Deputy Cameron Churchill received the “Outstanding Dedication to Drugged Driving Enforcement” award. Churchill, a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), represents the cream of the crop in law enforcement, an accolade bestowed to only 1% of officers nationwide. These DREs undergo rigorous training to spot signs of drug impairment beyond the usual suspects of alcohol, a crucial skill in today’s complex impairment landscape……
