ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — The St. Pete Pier and surrounding neighborhood have been jam-packed this weekend with high-speed boat racing, part of the Monster Energy St. Pete Powerboat P1 Grand Prix.
“When you’re racing, it’s all out full adrenaline. Boats are beside you. Boats are crashing. It’s just a pure adrenaline rush, from the green flag for 45 minutes till it’s over,” said Myrick Coil, a driver racing the Monster Energy/MCON boat.

More than 50 powerboat operators and 30 jet ski riders are competing over the three-day event.
