Tampa Police, with the help of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested a suspect in an August hit-and-run crash.
TAMPA, Fla. – A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash on August 27 that left a bicyclist with serious injuries.
Tampa Police detectives, in collaboration with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), identified and arrested 33-year-old Derrick Bass for the incident. Bass was taken into custody without incident on Monday and transported to Orient Road Jail.
According to Tampa Police, the crash occurred early on August 27 near Dale Mabry Highway and Mango Avenue. An SUV struck a bicyclist, an adult white male in his late 40s, and fled the scene.
