Rooftop garden with rare dinosaur skeleton coming to EDGE District

A parking garage is set to become one of St. Pete’s most unique venues—really. Ellison Development, the team behind The Central in the EDGE District, today announced plans for a rooftop garden featuring rare dinosaur bones that will be housed on top of the development’s parking garage.

The star of the proposed “dino-garden” will be a dinosaur skeleton named Devaiah, which developers say is one of only a handful of its kind. With only 20 skeletons of its type discovered, Devaiah is a Gorgosaurus – a predecessor of the T-Rex, coming some 10 million years before the famed predator, according to a release.

Developers say the garden was inspired by “Big John,” the world’s largest triceratops skeleton, which brings thousands of visitors to the Glazer Children’s Museum in Tampa every year. Ellison Development said it hopes to provide “access for families and children to gather, learn, and experience science in a setting that adds lasting value to the community.”…
