A unique, 73-year-old St. Petersburg facility that provided workforce training, employment and a sense of pride for developmentally disabled adults has shuttered.
The Louise Graham Regeneration Center (LGRC) launched in 1952 and welcomed its last clients Friday. New state and federal regulations impacted the facility’s funding, forcing its closure.
R’Club, a local nonprofit childcare provider, began operating LGRC in 2006. CEO Amy Shore said her organization kept the sheltered workspace afloat “as long as we could.”…
