Van Gogh’s back at the Dali, and under the dome

The immersive Van Gogh Alive exhibit (in 2020 and ’21) drew record crowds to the Dali Museum, which was already St. Petersburg’s top-ranking tourist draw. Visitors couldn’t get enough of the wall-sized (and larger) moving and morphing projections, set to stirring classical music in surround-sound.

The museum’s back-garden geodesic dome debuted in 2023 with even more immersion – 360 degrees, sloping wall to ceiling, plus floors – of Salvador Dali’s paintings, drawings and pithy commentary.

As technology improves, so does the art aficionado’s experience. Van Gogh Alive has been re-configured for the 39-foot-high, 60-foot-wide “Dali Dome,” and will premiere Oct. 11…
