HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County is throwing a bone to pet owners, a free shot clinic for dogs and cats that will be held on Sunday, Oct. 5.
The Downtown Tampa Interchange is closed this weekend. Here’s everything you need to know
The county said the annual event will offer free rabies vaccines and microchips for cats and dogs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last.
Under Florida law, all dogs, cats and ferrets over four months old are required to be vaccinated against rabies and stay up to date on follow-up shots, which are usually required every one to three years.

The event will take place at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds, located at 215 Sydney Washer Rd., Dover, FL 33527. It will also be drive-thru only, so you and your pet can stay in the car while the professionals make their rounds.
There are no registration requirements, but going earlier in the morning will give you a better chance of getting shots for your pet before supplies run out…
