Surprised Eckerd students gush over Zeta Pond otters

Two North American river otters caused a stir in Zeta Pond on Wednesday evening as students came from all over campus to get a peak.

“I was sitting in the backyard doing homework, then I look up, and one’s looking at me,” said Noah Ginnane, a senior in marine science. Ginnane is a Zeta resident, with a view of the pond right outside of his window. He saw messages about the otters, the crowd that followed, then the otters themselves, recounting the comedic moment he locked eyes with one.

Students gathered around the pond, evening climbing through windows with cameras and binoculars, unable to look away…
