St. Petersburg Police Launch High-Visibility Safety Campaign To Protect Pedestrians, Cyclists

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) is launching a High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) campaign focused on improving safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists on some of the city’s most traveled and dangerous roadways.

This initiative is part of a statewide effort and is funded by a $76,940 contract running from November 2025 through May 2026.

The special safety operations will begin on Tuesday, November 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on 34th Street between 5th Avenue South and 3rd Avenue North. This busy corridor is just one of several areas the SPPD will target over the next several months…
