1 killed in overnight house fire in St. Petersburg, fire rescue says

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — One person was killed overnight when a two-story home caught fire in St. Petersburg, fire rescue said.

Crews responded to the fire on 17th Street North at around 1 a.m. on Saturday.

The home was engulfed in flames by the time they arrived, but crews were able to contain the fire before it spread to other properties.

One fatality was reported, and two adults were evacuated from the home with no injuries, St. Petersburg Fire Rescue said.

The victim was not identified, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation…
