TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. (WFLA) — Pinellas County Government’s beach nourishment project has reached Treasure Island as contractors began work on the south end of Sunset Beach on Monday.
According to the city of Treasure Island, Sunset Beach from the rock jetty to the southern tip will be closed to the public while under construction.
The Tern parking lot and Sunset Beach Pavilion playground will also be closed during this time.
Construction is expected to last a couple of weeks before moving north to other sections of the beach…
