‘Imminent threat’: Residents forced out of St. Pete apartments after management violates safety codes

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — About 50 units in The Morgan apartment complex in South St. Petersburg have been considered unsafe to occupy following multiple months of failed fire inspections, according to the fire marshal and the St. Pete Fire Department.

Residents in the occupied apartments must vacate the premises by Sunday due to the “imminent threat to the life and safety of occupants,” according to the fire marshal.

“What are we supposed to do? Where am I supposed to go? There’s 50 some apartments on that list that have to vacate in seven days,” said Zane Bowman, who is in the process of moving out.
