A Florida woman is facing a misdemeanor charge after deputies say she was caught driving nearly twice the speed limit while trying to make it to a pizza restaurant before closing time.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on routine patrol spotted a Kia Forte traveling at high speed on US-19 late Thursday night. The vehicle passed the officer at around 11:52 p.m., and its speed was estimated at more than 100 mph before radar confirmed it at 107 mph. The stretch of highway where the car was recorded carries a 55-mph limit.
The driver, identified as 21-year-old Yazmin Erazo of Holiday, was pulled over without incident. The affidavit states she was taken into custody on allegations of dangerous and excessive speeding. She was later booked into the Pinellas County Jail and has since been released on bond…
