122 missing, endangered Florida children found in task force operation

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A task force comprised of local, state and federal law enforcement groups located and recovered 122 missing and endangered Florida children, the US Marshals announced Monday.

The two-week operation, titled Home for the Holidays, spanned across central Florida and involved children belonging to the following metro areas:

  • Tampa Bay – 57
  • Orlando – 14
  • Jacksonville – 22
  • Fort Myers – 29

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier says an effort to rescue abused and exploited children in the Tampa Bay Area and across the state has just wrapped up with great success.
