Mechanic’s arrest raises questions about mechanic’s lien ‘loophole’

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — On the heels of the arrest of a Dunedin mechanic, highlighted in a Better Call Behnken investigation, questions are mounting about how an alleged scheme involving vehicle titles was able to happen.

In court records, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office alleges the mechanic obtained clear titles for at least four vehicles by using fraudulent information to secure a mechanic’s lien.
