The American Psychological Association (APA) Ethics Committee has awarded the 2025 Lifetime Award for Accomplishments in Ethics Education to Dr. Tiffany Chenneville. Dr. Chenneville is a psychology professor at the University of South Florida (USF) St. Petersburg. The annual award recognizes psychologists for sustained contributions to ethics education in psychology. Dr. Chenneville has worked at USF since 2004. She expressed gratitude for the award and noted the importance of being nominated by a colleague and supported by former students and collaborators.
Dr. Chenneville’s research focuses on pediatric and adolescent HIV. She studies ethical issues such as minors’ participation in medical research, confidentiality, and HIV criminalization. Her work also covers broader topics in professional and research ethics. She has contributed to ethics education and research both in the United States and internationally. This includes leading a $1.2 million NIH-funded project to support research ethics committees in Indian medical schools.
Dr. Chenneville has served as a Fulbright Specialist. She provided training on ethical issues in HIV research at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
