Covington man pleads guilty to wire fraud in federal court

TAMPA — A Covington man who acted as the “money mule” in a wire fraud conspiracy has pleaded guilty in federal court in Tampa, Fla.

K’imani Brennen Fletcher, 26, formerly of Conyers, faces 20 years in prison for his role in a scheme in which he posed as a bail bondsman to defraud victims of more than $40,000. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud on Dec. 3.

Fletcher was already out on probation in connection with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Georgia…
