TAMPA / ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Commuters crossing the bay or heading through north St. Pete are waking up to new rules on the road this morning. As of early Monday, December 8, transportation officials have officially lowered speed limits in two major construction zones along the I-275 corridor.
If you are used to the standard highway pace, you’ll need to ease off the gas.
The new limit is set at 55 MPH for the following stretches:
- I-275 from 38th Avenue North to 4th Street North.
- The Howard Frankland Bridge connecting Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.
