This marked a sharp climb amid national trends, where U.S. filings reached 36,766 properties, up 3 percent from September and 19 percent from the year before. The national rate stood at one in every 3,871 units, but Florida’s numbers outpaced all others, followed by South Carolina, Illinois, Delaware, and Nevada.
