Sunrise Fail and Plan B

Went out this morning with the main goal of photographing the St Pete Pier at sunrise as I hadn’t done that in awhile and it looked like the conditions would be good. The conditions cooperated, but the whole area I wanted to shoot from to line up the sunrise was blocked off. I ended up only taking 2-3 shots and then just headed to my default park, Roosevelt Wetlands. Had a decent morning there to salvage the outing.

Pied-billed Grebe in sunrise light. The bird is called the “Pied-billed Grebe” because it’s a grebe (a diving bird with legs far back) that has a two-toned (pied) bill during mating season.
