Fatal Collision in St. Petersburg as PSTA Bus Runs Red Light Killing Clearwater Woman and Injuring Two Men

A PSTA passenger bus ran a red light Saturday evening in St. Petersburg, colliding with a Nissan Armada. One person was killed, and two men were injured. According to WFLA, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the bus, driven by a 38-year-old from Pinellas Park, was traveling west on Roosevelt Boulevard and failed to stop at the red light at Lake Carillon Drive before turning left into the Nissan’s path.

The 57-year-old Nissan driver from Clearwater was seriously injured, and the unrestrained bus driver was ejected onto the roadway; both were taken to a nearby hospital. A 57-year-old female Nissan passenger later died. FOX 13 News reported that the crash occurred near the PSTA office, and it is unclear whether there were any passengers on the bus.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage, with the Nissan’s airbags deployed. The Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released the identities of those involved…
