New Tampa Bay Sports Commission chief wants to ‘continue to raise the bar’

The organization responsible for bringing premier sporting and entertainment events to Tampa Bay has a new leader.

The Tampa Bay Sports Commission on Dec. 11 appointed Lanness Robinson, director of athletics for Hillsborough County Public Schools, as its executive director. Robinson has previously served as athletic director at Wharton High School.

“Tampa Bay’s standing as a premier sports destination has grown exponentially throughout the years thanks to the sports commission and all our partners in the community and government,” Robinson said in a news release…
