TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Center for Disease Control and Prevention lowered the number of vaccine recommendations for children. Tampa Bay doctors are reacting to the changes.
The reduction went from 17 to 11 recommended vaccines. The CDC’s assessment talked about public trust in health care and falling childhood vaccine rates.

“I think this is extremely dangerous. There has not been a case made to eliminate these vaccines,” said Dr. Jill Roberts, a USF professor at the College of Public Health.
The 11 vaccines include measles, mumps, rubella, polio, pertussis, tetanus, diphtheria, Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib), pneumococcal disease, human papillomavirus (HPV), and varicella (chickenpox).
