Largo man charged with Clearwater bank robberies

TAMPA, Florida — Shannon Luster, a 49-year-old from Largo, has been arrested and charged with bank robbery, according to United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. If convicted, Luster faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

The criminal complaint alleges that Luster robbed two Clearwater banks at gunpoint, with incidents occurring on November 5 and December 9, 2025. Disguised with a hat and sunglasses, and carrying a laptop bag to conceal his firearm, Luster allegedly used an e-bike for his getaway. During the robberies, he reportedly pointed guns at bank employees, demanded access to tills, and stole thousands of dollars before fleeing.

An investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Clearwater Police Department identified Luster as the suspect. Authorities found the firearm and laptop bag in a dumpster near his residence, along with the e-bike, clothing worn during the robberies, and some of the stolen cash, according to the press release…
