St. Pete police looking for masked robbers who pepper-sprayed CVS clerks

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Two masked robbers made their getaway Monday night after dousing the clerks at a CVS with pepper spray, St. Pete police said.

Investigators said they were still looking for the pair Tuesday and believe they’ve robbed at least three stores in the St. Petersburg area since Dec. 1.

The two suspects were seen entering the CVS on 3rd Street South just before midnight Monday. Surveillance video showed them walking in with surgical masks covering their faces.

One of the suspects could be seen forcing their way behind the counter and pushing a salesclerk. The second suspect then sprayed the clerk in the face with a substance detectives believe was pepper spray.
