CLEARWATER, Fla. — The couple accused of dumping 12 sick dogs in a Largo park, one of them a puppy named Frosty who later died, returned to court Tuesday as prosecutors added new felony animal cruelty charges to the case.
Maryanne Gamble and Fred Gamble now each face 17 felony counts of animal cruelty. The five new charges are tied to dogs investigators say were found dead and buried in the couple’s backyard, on top of the original counts related to dogs police say were abandoned in a Largo park.
Supporters wearing “Justice for Frosty” shirts filled the courtroom for the hearing, prompting the judge to acknowledge the crowd gathered in support of the animals…
