PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Motorists in Pinellas County should prepare for a week of detours and potential delays as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) rolls out a fresh round of lane closures starting Sunday, January 11, 2026. From the Sunshine Skyway to the busy US 19 corridor, maintenance and construction crews will be out in force.
The most significant impacts will likely be felt by commuters utilizing the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. FDOT District 7 officials have scheduled nighttime closures for both directions of I-275 on the bridge. Northbound drivers can expect lane reductions from Monday, January 12 through Friday, January 16, between 8:15 p.m. and 6:45 a.m.
