Tampa, Florida — A Hillsborough County man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he shot and killed a pit bull in retaliation for the dog killing his Pomeranian the previous day. Authorities say both animals died as a result of the separate incidents, which unfolded in a residential area east of Tampa.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 15300 block of Otto Road shortly after 8 a.m. on January 7 following a report of a gunshot.
