Pinellas County Traffic Alert: Lane Closures Coming Jan 25-31

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has released a new list of lane closures that could slow down your commute in Pinellas County starting Sunday, January 25, 2026.

From major interstates like I-275 to busy local hubs like US 19, crews will be out in force. Here is everything you need to know to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

Interstate Interruptions

Commuters on the interstates should be ready for some night work. If you take I-175, look out for lane closures between 16th Street South and 4th Street South. These happen overnight from Sunday, Jan. 25 through Thursday, Jan. 29. The lanes close at 7 p.m. and reopen by 7 a.m.

Drivers on I-275 have two spots to watch:

  • The Sunshine Skyway Bridge: There is a night lane closure scheduled for just one night—Thursday, Jan. 29, starting at 8 p.m. It wraps up early Friday morning at 6:30 a.m.
  • From 38th Ave N to Roosevelt Blvd: Expect closures in both directions and some traffic shifts on the southbound side. This runs Sunday night through Thursday night, 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work on US 19

US 19 is seeing a lot of activity this week, mostly overnight.
