Body found near St. Petersburg park prompts investigation

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — Detectives are investigating after a body was discovered along the shoreline of Jungle Prada de Narvaez Park in St. Petersburg.

On February 1, 2026, a citizen alerted the St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) to the presence of a deceased male wearing a personal flotation device near the Jungle Prada boat ramp. The SPPD responded and initiated an investigation, enlisting the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Flight Unit to search for a possible vessel in the area.
