TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa Bay Water issued a stage 2 drought warning, starting Feb. 8, with Tampa Bay residents only being able to water their yards once a week.
The C.W. Bill Young Reservoir is operating at around half of its capacity.

“The Tampa Bay region is currently in an 11-inch rainfall deficit for the past year, and the river flows decreases also, so we’re going into a level two drought,” said Warren Hogg, chief science officer for Tampa Bay Water.
