Florida Snowmobilers Rescued After Getting Lost in Pisgah State Park

CHESTERFIELD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Two snowmobilers from Florida were rescued Saturday evening after becoming disoriented in Pisgah State Park as temperatures plunged into the single digits, authorities said.

New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were alerted around 6:36 p.m. by State Police dispatch that the riders were overdue and unable to find their way out of the park. An officer was able to reach the pair by phone and learned they were nearly out of fuel, their cellphone batteries were running low, and they were beginning to feel the effects of the cold. Air temperatures were about 2 degrees, with wind chills well below zero.

Using a snowmobile, a conservation officer located the riders at about 7:30 p.m. They were identified as Carlos Garcia-Cardona, 37, and Cameron Cattery, 27, both of Clearwater, FL. Officials said both men were cold but not injured…
