A big name has joined Pinellas County’s barbecue scene. Outside BBQ, a highly-rated Tampa outpost for smoked meats and classic sides, has opened a new restaurant at 6305 Gulf Blvd in St. Pete Beach.
The popular BBQ spot quietly soft-opened last week and had its official grand opening this Monday, bringing its indulgentSouthern-influenced menu to the beaches. With meats smoked in-house, Outside BBQ offers a wide range of sandwiches, meat platters, wings, house-made specialty sauces, gourmet sides, and desserts. While the smoked meat gets the headlines, the fried oysters are a can’t-miss option, and their blue velvet cake is already turning heads.
Their original restaurant in Tampa (1613 East MLK Blvd) has become a neighborhood favorite, beloved for its southern-style BBQ. They have the usual pulled pork, smoked chicken, and wings, to be sure. But the big stars are the smoked ribs and chopped brisket. The restaurant promises three things and delivers on them all: “Meat, Smoke, and Southern Hospitality.”
Outside BBQ opens daily at 11 am, with lunch specials on weekdays and dinner service seven nights a week. If you want to try as much as possible, we recommend a combo dinner, getting you two meats and two gourmet sides.
