Wesley Chapel Man Arrested After Reckless 150 MPH Motorcycle Chase from Tampa to St. Petersburg

A high-speed chase involving a motorcycle that reached speeds of approximately 150 miles per hour ended with the arrest of Michael Alexander Fiallo, 19, from Wesley Chapel, late Saturday night according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). FOX 13 News reports the pursuit began in Tampa and stretched to St. Petersburg, initiated by FHP troopers after an aviation unit observed several motorcyclists riding recklessly and racing along Westshore Boulevard.

The chase reportedly continued across the Gandy Bridge and on to 4th Street and southbound Interstate 275, where Fiallo failed to comply with an attempted traffic stop by a trooper on the ground Fiallo then accelerated, weaving through traffic before he eventually ditched his motorcycle near Carillon Parkway and fled on foot to a nearby parking garage. Despite his efforts, which included wearing a jacket emblazoned with the words “don’t get caught”, Fiallo was apprehended by authorities, as detailed by Pasco News Online.

The Tampa Free Press mentions the motorcycle in question was a Honda, which Fiallo abandoned following the high-speed pursuit, prior to his capture inside the parking structure.
