ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — The St. Petersburg Police Department has launched a campaign to enhance safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists on busy roads, starting in November 2025.
The department has conducted 26 operations focusing on education and enforcement, resulting in 174 pedestrian education contacts, 119 bicycle education contacts, and 300 motorist education contacts. A total of 230 citations have been issued, and 107 bicycle lights have been distributed, according to a press release from the department.
Officers will continue this special enforcement through May 2026, supported by a $76,940 contract for High Visibility Enforcement operations.
