Eckerd’s surge in alligator sightings sparks growing campus safety concerns

The fall saw an increase in alligator sightings on Eckerd College’s campus, with a large alligator spotted in the front pond near the McArthur Gym and another smaller one seen in Fox Pond. But students may not know how to treat them right.

Alligators are common at Eckerd, whether students notice them or not.
