Maximus (A2495777), a 9-year-old German Shepherd, is in need of a hospice adoption or rescue placement by Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 4 PM. He was surrendered to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center on February 25, 2026, after his owner could no longer manage his medical needs. Maximus is gentle, affectionate, and enjoys being around people and children.
He recently underwent surgery that revealed an aggressive tumor, and his health is declining. The shelter staff are providing excellent care, but Maximus needs a loving home to spend his final days in comfort.
