Police increase patrols around synagogues after Iran conflict, Michigan attack

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Thursday’s attack on a Michigan synagogue marked at least the 18th physical attack on a Jewish house of worship in the U.S. during the past decade. That’s according to the Anti-Defamation League. It’s affected congregations nationwide, including in Tampa Bay.

Rabbi Amy L. Morrison with Temple Beth El said while this isn’t even the first synagogue attack this year, the news always hits like it’s the first time. She told Spectrum News that for her, the violence in West Bloomfield Township struck a personal blow.
