Pinellas Jail Inmate, 64, Dies After Hospital Dash as Detectives Probe

A 64-year-old man being held at the Pinellas County Jail died yesterday after a sudden medical emergency at a local hospital, according to authorities. Detectives have opened an investigation into the in-custody death, which they say does not currently appear suspicious.

The inmate, identified as Mark LeDiet, was arrested on Feb. 28, by the Indian Shores Police Department on a domestic battery charge. He remained at the Pinellas County Jail until Friday, when he was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment related to an existing medical condition, investigators said, according to Tampa Free Press.
