Frontrunner Casting is on the lookout for local extras for the movie The Statement, starring Paul Rudd and Paul Giamatti, which is set to shoot in St. Petersburg. Directed by Tom McCarthy, the film delves into early climate change discussions in 1980s Florida.
Extras are needed for scenes on April 6, 7, and 8. The historic Don CeSar on St. Pete Beach is expected to be a filming location. Participants will earn $200 for a 12-hour day, plus $50 for a fitting.
McCarthy, known for Spotlight, is working with Thomas Bidegan and Noé Debré on the screenplay. Inspired by Nathaniel Rich’s book Losing Earth, the story unfolds with scientists and policymakers, tasked by Congress, writing a paper on CO2 emissions.
