Man accused of strangling, threatening USF student with knife

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man has been arrested after authorities said he assaulted a University of South Florida student on multiple occasions.

Ashtin Keith Andreasen, 21, is accused of strangling, beating and threatening the student with a knife, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said this happened over the course of several days at an off-campus location. The student reported the incidents to authorities on Thursday, March 26.

As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned Andreasen also had an active warrant issued by USF police. The warrant, which was for strangulation and false imprisonment, was related to another incident involving the same victim, the sheriff’s office said…
