St. Petersburg man faces life in prison for drug distribution and firearm charges

TAMPA, Florida — A 31-year-old St. Petersburg man has been charged with multiple drug and firearm offenses, potentially facing life in federal prison.

Rayshawn Smith has been charged by criminal complaint with distribution of a controlled substance resulting in great bodily injury, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, drug distribution, and possession of a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, according to U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.
