ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — The Country Thunder Music Festival is set to bring some big stars to St. Pete Beach. The weekend of the event is rapidly approaching, but the permits for the concert haven’t been granted.
Conservationists are set to protest outside the TradeWinds Resort on Saturday at 10 a.m. They say that the lighting, stage, and large crowds will pose a risk to the wildlife.
“The concert is going to be like a construction site on our sandy beach, which is their nesting habitat,” Lisa Reich said. “We don’t know where they’re going to nest. But this type of activity is going to distract them.”…
