TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — 16-year-old James Middlebrooks is accused of killing Jonathan Blue during a marijuana transaction. In court on Thursday, a judge denied the suspect bond for the first-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder charges the suspect is facing.
“I think it’s very clear that the state’s met its burden and that there is a substantial probability that he committed the offenses. I do not believe that there was any condition of release that can protect the public,” Judge Gregory Green of the 13th Juditial District of Florida said.
Middlebrooks is being tried as an adult; he allegedly shot the deceased and left another woman with serious injuries on March 15th. In court, detectives said Middlebrooks could be a flight risk because his mother was trying to bus him to Buffalo, New York, after the killing happened…
