Florida man accused of hitting, killing motorcyclist in hit-and-run, fleeing the scene

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly hit and killed a motorcyclist in a deadly hit-and-run and later tried to flee the scene of the crash.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says that on Saturday, April 11, at about 7:45 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a traffic crash on Old Hopewell Road near Henry George Road. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found two people who had been ejected from a motorcycle.

HCSO says the driver of the motorcycle, Giovany Negron Talavera, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a woman, was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital, where she is in critical condition…
