Tampa area’s first Whataburger opens today in Lutz

Whataburger has officially opened its first Tampa-area restaurant in Lutz, the latest the popular chain’s expansion across the region. The new location is at 25340 Sierra Center Blvd

The Largo restaurant welcomed its first customers this Thursday, opening its doors at 11 am with plans to keep them open for good. The 24-hour fast food burger spot is now open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night eats. While it isn’t the first-ever Whataburger in the region, it has been years since Pinellas County and the Tampa Bay region had the Texas favorite open for business. The chain just opened in Largo earlier this year as it returns to Tampa Bay.

As part of a major Florida expansion, the burger chain plans to open eight restaurants across the Tampa Bay area by the end of 2027, bringing new jobs and its signature made-to-order meals to local communities…
