A full block in Grand Central is shutting down for a ‘Dos de Mayo’ street festival

Whether dancing or snacking, you’ll have your pick of salsa in St. Pete for Cinco de Mayo. The Grand Central District Association announced a ‘Dos de Mayo’ street festival taking over the heart of the neighborhood on Saturday, May 2, from 5-7 pm.

The free festival is billed as a high-energy Latin block party, packed full of Latin food trucks, a live Latin band, a curated market with local vendors, and area bars and restaurants setting up activations in the street. The businesses in the area will be joining in with specials and plenty of room for overflow (or a little AC if you need a break).

The street festival takes place on 23rd Street between 1st Avenue South and Central Avenue, filling the block and spreading into the surrounding bars like Right Around the Corner, Par Bar, Dog Bar, Grand Central Brewhouse and more. The celebration is completely free to attend and open to all ages, though of course you must be 21+ to consume alcohol…
