We thought this one might get spicy, and you didn’t disappoint. Ahead of Cinco de Mayo, we asked our readers to drop the gatekeeping and tell us their favorite Mexican restaurants in (and around) St. Pete. Hundreds of comments later, we were able to find a consensus.
15 different spots got at least three independent mentions, and five of those got five or more. However, only one Mexican restaurant got double-digit submissions, with nearly twice as many independent comments as the second-place entrant.
If the Facebook comments section is to be believed (and when has that ever not been reliable?), then the clear fan favorite Mexican restaurant in the St. Pete area is VIP in Treasure Island and Indian Rocks Beach.
