TAMPA, Fla (WFLA) — A community clean up event will be held at the Historic Old Memphis Cemetery in Manatee County. That’s the cemetery with ties to the black community that was vandalized and is under investigation. But vandalism isn’t the only thing leaders are worried about when it comes to black cemeteries in Tampa Bay.
Friday, the Black Cemetery Network partnered with the University of South Florida for a conference aimed at preventing grave sites from being erased.
